Abbey Slinker
I am a student at the University of Maine at Augusta with an expected graduation date of May 2018. I grew up in Indiana, bouncing between a city often referred to as a 'Midwestern Mecca of Architecture' and a rural town full of veneer factories and grain elevators. These roots are apparent in my design aesthetic and my interests in the relationship between nature and materiality, industrial and vernacular structures, and the contrast between the historical and the contemporary.
I am insatiably curious, and my desire to explore and document buildings constantly inspires my work. I intend to find a career that encourages creativity and curiosity while designing innovative structures that add to the richness of the built environment.
